New Inspection Geni 4.0 features add surface and datum dimensions; new Tolerance Types, support for Fit Fields, and more
Hertzlia, Israel – April 18, 2013 – Albitech today introduced the availability of the new Inspection Geni 4.0, the latest generation of its category-defining SolidWorks® add-on that enables designers and engineers to automatically expedite inspection and approval processes, slashing costs and boosting time to market.

Design, IG-style
Making design simple requires the use of advanced technologies. IG 4.0 is loaded with them, allowing applications like SolidWorks to give you unprecedented design and inspection capabilities. “The development of IG 4.0 was driven by the needs of SolidWorks users,” he explained. “The latest version is optimized to ensure that everything is designed to be easy and intuitive to use. It’s the fastest, most versatile version of IG on any SolidWorks users’ desktop.
“We are now able to add Dimension ID’s to surface and datum dimensions to any project. These are scanned out of the drawing like regular dimensions and appear in the template tree view with a separate tree node representing the different dimension.”
According to Sashkis, this new feature allows users to automatically review multiple dimensional and tolerance ranges on any SolidWorks-generated design. “Today a designer is still forced to print, then add much of their specific data using a marker on the printed design.
Inspection Geni 4.0 gives you the ability to assign specific analysis to one of several Filters. For example, you can useFilter 1: to show all dimensions related to datum A, or to datums A B and C. Filter 2 can then be configured to show all the dimensions within a tolerance range of 0.05mm; while Filter 3 illustrates all the M6 threads.”
As powerful as that sounds, it’s just one of several new options. IG 4.0 now automatically analyzes and gives users the ability to view the information of fit tolerances from any kind of standard.
